Livelihood

Why Livelihoods?

87% of India’s farmers have less than 5 acres of land and are compelled to practice subsistence farming due to degraded natural resources and uncertain weather. Lack of reliable income has leads to poverty and sorrowful migration effecting the community’s well being.

By offering workable alternatives, it is necessary to lessen the overdependence on traditional agriculture. Diversifying the economy away from agriculture and into other agro-based livelihoods, rural businesses, and non-farm industries is crucial for rural India’s economic growth as well as for the country’s overall economy.
